About the RNIP

RNIP stands for Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot and is a community-driven program. It’s planned to spread the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities by creating a path to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who want to come to work and live in one of the participating communities.

The Sudbury RNIP ranks applicants in the pool using a points-based system. They (Sudbury) select the highest-ranking candidates from the pool and invite them (candidates) to apply for a community recommendation.
