six rounds of invitations

On February 1, 2024, the City of Greater Sudbury made headlines in Canada’s immigration landscape by conducting an unprecedented six rounds of invitations in its Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) Program. This remarkable feat underscores Sudbury’s commitment to attracting skilled workers and fostering economic growth in rural and northern communities.

The city considered 238 candidates, including 219 via the Conventional Stream, 16 under the Limited stream, and three through the Francophone Stream. The minimum score for these draws varied between 145 and 290. In 2024, Sudbury invited a total of 284 applicants. Sudbury last accepted RNIP applications on February 1, 2024. Applications received after that date will not be considered. So far, the city has recommended around 900 individuals under the RNIP since the program’s launch.

Sudbury’s RNIP Program provides a vital pathway for skilled workers and their families to immigrate to the region, contributing their expertise to various industries and sectors. Launched to address labor market needs in rural and northern communities, the program offers applicants the opportunity to settle and integrate into Sudbury’s vibrant community fabric. By welcoming skilled workers and their families, Sudbury positions itself as a destination of choice for those seeking rewarding career opportunities and a high quality of life.

Sudbury’s RNIP Program continues to set new benchmarks in Canada’s immigration landscape, exemplifying the city’s proactive approach to talent acquisition and community development.
