Prince Edward Island introduced a new stream to fill in-demand jobs in the PEI, Prince Edward Island’s Office of Immigration introduced a new stream to help employers to fill in-demand jobs in the PEI On March 1, 2022, The new Occupations in Demand stream will be an employer-driven program that allows employers to hire prospective immigrants to fill in-demand jobs in the PEI for positions, such as nurses, accommodation housekeepers, truckers, or construction laborers that they are unable to fill through the local job market.
According to Matthew MacKay, Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture Minister, “Prince Edward Island is facing significant labor shortages, while also experiencing an increased demand for specific skills.”
This Prince Edward Island Island is the smallest province in Canada. It is connected to the mainland by a 12.9-kilometer-long bridge. This small province accounts for only 0.1% of Canada’s total land area, but that doesn’t stop it from having a lot of opportunities as tourists flock to the island, especially in the summer months.
