Canada keeps reinforcing its immigration system by inviting talented applicants to apply for permanent residence under the New Draw Express Entry system. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a new Express Entry draw on February 17, 2025, inviting 646 candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This draw, number #336, had a 750-point cut-off, 52 points less than the last PNP-directed draw, and provided a better chance for PNP candidates to obtain their Invitations to Apply (ITA).
A Step Forward for PNP Candidates in the New Draw Express Entry
The Express Entry program remains one of the primary channels through which skilled immigrants move to Canada. The PNP-centric draw showcases Canada’s desire to welcome talented individuals who have already been nominated by provinces. The provincial nomination attains a candidate 600 points on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, greatly increasing their chances of getting an ITA in Express Entry draws.
This new Draw Express Entry is in keeping with Canada’s continued push to fill labor gaps and improve the strength of its workforce by accepting highly qualified professionals who will help boost the economy. The cut-off time for this round was July 23, 2024, at 17:41:11 UTC, providing a level playing field among the candidates who scored the cut-off mark.
Express Entry Pool Status
As of February 16, 2025, 234,644 profiles had been registered in the Express Entry pool, showcasing the competitiveness of the selection process. This notwithstanding, the Government of Canada is still dedicated to inviting deserving candidates, with 10,922 invitations already being issued in 2025, including 1,572 PNP candidates, reaffirming its commitment through each New Draw Express Entry.
