In the recent BC PNP Draw held on March 12, British Columbia has once again extended its invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residency (PR) to a significant number of candidates. This draw, which saw over 192 ITAs issued, continues to underscore British Columbia’s commitment to attracting skilled professionals from around the globe reflecting the province’s proactive approach to addressing the diverse needs of its labor market. With a cumulative count of 2,198 candidates invited so far in 2024, British Columbia remains steadfast in its efforts to attract and retain skilled professionals who contribute to the province’s economic prosperity and cultural diversity.

Details of the Recent BC PNP Draw

Of the total invitations extended, 65 were allocated under both the Express Entry and BC PNP Skills Immigration streams, specifically targeting 35 tech occupations. This focused approach highlights the province’s recognition of the vital role that technology plays in driving economic growth and innovation.

In addition to the tech sector, the draw also catered to various other industries by inviting candidates with expertise in different fields. Notably, 54 ITAs were issued to individuals with experience as early childhood educators’ assistants or instructors (NOC 42202). This reflects British Columbia’s emphasis on nurturing the educational sector and supporting the development of young minds.

Furthermore, the draw acknowledged the importance of the construction industry by extending invitations to 30 applicants skilled in 25 construction-related occupations. The province’s continued investment in infrastructure and development projects necessitates a steady influx of qualified professionals in this field.

Healthcare, another critical sector, was also represented in the draw, with 38 profiles featuring experience in 39 healthcare-related occupations receiving invitations. This move reaffirms British Columbia’s dedication to enhancing its healthcare system and ensuring access to quality medical services for its residents.

Moreover, the draw demonstrated inclusivity by issuing up to five invitations to candidates employed in veterinary care occupations, recognizing the significance of animal welfare and veterinary services within the province.

In total, the draw witnessed the issuance of up to 192 ITAs, reflecting the province’s proactive approach to addressing the diverse needs of its labor market.
