Ontario published 2022 OINP results on March 23, 2023, the Government of Ontario introduced the 2022 nomination results of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The OINP experienced unprecedented demand in 2022, leading to the biggest number of nominations in its history.
Last year, Ontario issued 9,750 nominations under the following streams:
- Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream – 885
- Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream – 159
- Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream – 771
- Ph.D. Graduate stream – 303
- Master’s Graduate stream – 1,480
- Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades stream – 3,196
- Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream – 2,370
- Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream – 583
- Entrepreneur stream – 3
Last year, Ontario invited 21,860 candidates under the nine streams of the OINP.

The OINP continues its commitment to addressing labor market needs for skilled trades. In 2022, the OINP issued the highest number of nominations to skilled trades workers in its history. Approximately 40% of all nominations were to individuals with work experience or a job offer in a skilled trade occupation. Oinp had a high number of nominations in Technology related occupations, approximately 25%. OINP nominated over 150 healthcare workers in 2022, including 75 nurses and personal support workers.
In 2022, OINP nominated open individuals from over 1,300 employers across all Ontario industries. The top industries supported by OINP in 2022 were the manufacturing, construction, professional, scientific, and technical services sectors.
