The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has issued 122 Applications and got its 2022 quota allocation, which is nearly three times the numbers they were able to manage in the past. This program allows employers to sponsor foreign workers who are skilled and have a job offer waiting at their company.

What is the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program?

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is a government initiative that allows people to immigrate to Canada. The OINP is the province’s economic immigration program. It works in partnership with the Government of Canada through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The OINP is a valuable tool for Canadians who want to bring talented immigrants into the country. It provides a way for employers to hire foreign workers.

The Business Immigration Services team takes an active role in helping employers find talent solutions with immigration. We are here to help businesses navigate the immigration system to:

  • fill labor shortages
  • retain international students
  • get skilled workers faster

As a designated referral partner under Canada’s Global Skills Strategy, OINP business services can help innovative companies that are scaling up or significantly investing in Ontario. We offer personalized service that can help businesses get an expedited work permit and labor market impact assessment (LMIA) processing for your highly skilled talent needs.

How do I get an Ontario nomination?

Foreign workers, international students, and others with the right skills, experience, and education apply to the OINP for a nomination.

In order to initially receive the Ontario nomination, you must be selected via an OINP EOI draw after submitting an Expression of Interest to the province. Being nominated at the provincial level will add 600 points to your Canada Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking Score, also called the Express Entry CRS

How Does the OINP Work?

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is a government-funded program that provides permanent residency to foreign nationals who are interested in living and working in Ontario.

To be eligible for the OINP, immigrants must meet certain requirements, including having a job offer from an Ontario company or organization, having a valid passport, and is sponsored by an employer or individual who is registered with the OINP.

The OINP has announced that it has received applications and allocated a quota of 5,000 new immigrants per year. This means that there is currently an available pool of 10,000 immigrant visas available for people who want to move to Ontario.
