On July 6, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the second occupation-specific Express Entry draw and issued 1500 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates working in healthcare occupations. 

In round #255, the cut-off score was 463 points, 13 points fewer than in the previous healthcare-targeted Express Entry draw. 

The tie-breaking rule for this round was June 19, 2023, at 06:41:05 UTC. 

As of July 4, 2023, there were 214,529 profiles registered in the Express Entry pool. This year, Canada issued 62,248 ITAs through the Express Entry draws.

The second consecutive week of targeted healthcare draws occurs at the end of June as well as the first week of July. The first targeted Express Entry draw was held by IRCC on June 28th, issuing 500 ITAs to healthcare workers with a minimum CRS score of 476.

Another 500 ITAs were issued to STEM workers in the Express Entry pool who had a minimum CRS score of 486, as a result of IRCC’s first targeted STEM draw on July 4.

  • 33101 – Medical laboratory assistants and related technical occupations
  • 32120 – Medical laboratory technologists
  • 32121 – Medical radiation technologists
  • 32122 – Medical sonographers
  • 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates
  • 31302 – Nurse practitioners
