The Government of British Columbia conducted new rounds of invitations under the BC PNP on May 28, 2024. These draws are part of the province’s ongoing efforts to attract skilled candidates to meet its labor market needs.

General Draw Details

In the general draw, British Columbia issued 35 invitations to candidates who achieved a minimum score of 110 points. This draw targets skilled workers who can contribute significantly to the province’s economy.

Targeted Draws Overview

In addition to the general draw, British Columbia held targeted draws for candidates with work experience in specific sectors:

Childcare: The province invited 11 candidates who are early childhood educators (NOC 42202).

Healthcare: Nine candidates in the healthcare sector were invited, with a minimum score requirement of 100 points.

Construction: British Columbia issued 11 invitations to candidates working in the construction sector.

Veterinary Care: Up to five invitations were extended to candidates in veterinary care occupations.

In total, the province issued up to 71 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in this round. This brings the total number of candidates invited by British Columbia in 2024 to 3,247.

Targeted invitations to apply to the Skills Immigration streams may be based on one or more of the following factors:

  • Education – level, and field of education and where it was completed
  • Eligible professional designations in B.C.
  • Language skills
  • Occupation
  • Duration and skill level of work experience
  • Wage and/or skill level of job offer
  • Intent to live, work, and settle in a specific region
  • Strategic priorities – factors that address specific labor market needs in B.C. or support government pilot projects and initiatives
