April 11, 2025

NBPNP

New Brunswick, a highly inclusive province among the rest of Canada, has once more proven itself keen to recruit able-bodied newcomers in line with the NBPNP by unveiling its latest rounds of immigration results. Employing its streamlined Expression of Interest (EOI) platform, the province has so far issued 975 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for different streams within the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) during 2025.

The most recent draws conducted on April 7, 8, and 9, 2025, were for in-demand occupations such as healthcare, education, social services, and construction trades. Such targeted draws show New Brunswick taking the initiative in synchronizing its immigration policy with the changing needs of its labor market.

A Strategic Approach to Immigration Through the NBPNP

New Brunswick’s immigration strategy, reflected in the NBPNP (New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program), shows its commitment to long-term vision for sustainable economic growth. By choosing candidates through its Expression of Interest system, the province guarantees that newcomers have the qualifications and work experience required to succeed in their communities and play an important role in the local economy.

On April 7 and 8, 2025, New Brunswick released 432 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the below two streams:

  • NB Skilled Worker – NB Experience Stream
  • NB Skilled Worker – NB Graduates Stream

These streams aim at the people who have already developed some sort of connection with the province, be it through work experience or education. Prioritizing the applicants who know the work culture and lifestyle of the province, New Brunswick encourages smoother adaptation and improved retention rates.

Occupational Categories in Demand

The focus of these recent NBPNP draws was clearly on sectors experiencing labor shortages and requiring immediate workforce reinforcement. The occupational categories included:

  • Healthcare Professionals
Nurses, personal support workers, and medical technicians are in high demand as the province strengthens its healthcare infrastructure.
  • Education Sector Workers
Educators and support staff play a crucial role in addressing the growing demand for quality education across urban and rural areas.
  • Social and Community Services
New Brunswick recognizes the need for skilled professionals who can support community wellness and development initiatives.
  • Construction Trades
With infrastructure development on the rise, skilled tradespeople such as electricians, carpenters, and plumbers are essential to the province’s growth.

This targeted approach not only supports economic development but also provides newcomers with rewarding career opportunities in thriving sectors.

NB Express Entry Stream Draw – April 9, 2025

Apart from the previous draws, New Brunswick held another draw on April 9, 2025, under the NB Express Entry Stream – Employment in New Brunswick category, releasing 45 Invitations to Apply to eligible candidates.

This stream is especially beneficial for individuals already employed in New Brunswick on a valid job offer. It permits applicants to expedite their permanent residency under the federal Express Entry system while maintaining their jobs in the province.

A Total of 975 Invitations in 2025 So Far

Up to April 2025, New Brunswick has invited 975 candidates through different NBPNP streams. This increasing number of invitations is a good omen for candidates who wish to settle in New Brunswick. The province’s emphasis on high-demand jobs through the NBPNP means that newcomers are being invited into a situation where there is a demand for their skills and talents. Whether via the NB Skilled Worker Stream or the NB Express Entry Stream, New Brunswick remains to establish an avenue for experienced professionals to have a prosperous future in Canada.
