Manitoba conducted a new MPNP draw for Skilled Workers Overseas stream

Skilled Workers Overseas stream

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has extended its warm welcome to skilled workers overseas through its recent draw, #212, held on March 8, 2024. This draw, which primarily targeted the Skilled Worker Overseas (SWO) stream, witnessed the issuance of 104 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), including 20 invitations to Express Entry candidates. Notably, the minimum score required for eligibility dropped significantly to 614 points, marking a remarkable decrease of 99 points from the previous SWO draw.

The drop in the minimum required score to 614 points is a significant development, indicating Manitoba’s efforts to streamline its immigration processes and make them more accessible to a broader spectrum of skilled professionals. This reduction not only enhances the chances of prospective candidates but also underscores Manitoba’s adaptability to the changing dynamics of the global job market. By lowering the threshold, Manitoba aims to attract top-tier talent that can address the province’s evolving labor needs while fostering economic growth and development.

For skilled workers overseas eyeing opportunities in Manitoba, this draw presents a promising avenue to explore. With a reduced minimum score requirement, candidates with diverse skill sets and backgrounds stand a better chance of receiving an invitation to apply for provincial nomination. Moreover, the inclusion of Express Entry candidates underscores Manitoba’s commitment to facilitating a seamless transition for individuals already in the federal Express Entry pool, streamlining their pathway to permanent residency in the province.

In this latest draw, Manitoba opened its doors to skilled workers with a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. This move indicates the province’s commitment to attracting talented individuals who can contribute to Manitoba’s economy and communities. Throughout 2024, the MPNP has been actively engaging with candidates, having extended invitations to a total of 1,356 individuals. Among these, 148 candidates received invitations through the Express Entry stream, further highlighting Manitoba’s focus on tapping into the pool of highly skilled workers.

Manitoba’s latest MPNP draw, #212, marks a significant milestone in the province’s ongoing efforts to attract skilled workers from around the globe. With 104 invitations extended under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream and a notable drop in the minimum required score to 614 points, Manitoba reaffirms its status as a preferred destination for skilled professionals seeking new opportunities. As the province continues to prioritize immigration as a key driver of economic growth and vitality, prospective candidates can look forward to a welcoming and inclusive environment conducive to their professional and personal success.
