Manitoba Invites Skilled Candidates Under the Manitoba Canada Provincial Nominee Program

Manitoba Canada Provincial nominee Program

On December 18, 2024, Manitoba, in a demonstration of unrelenting commitment to welcoming global talent, hosted the Invitation Round #234 of the Manitoba Canada Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). A total of 399 Letters of Advice to Apply were issued to skilled candidates from various streams as part of the round. This has once again established Manitoba’s proactive stance on labor market needs and, by extension, supports economic growth.

Skilled Workers Overseas Stream – Manitoba Canada Provincial Nominee Program

In this draw, Manitoba granted 102 LAAs to candidates under the Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) stream who received invitations through the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. This program matches Manitoba employers with the province’s labor market needs from highly skilled international workers. The lowest-ranked candidate scored 630 points and that was 13 more points than the previous draw number 233. This score increase also highlights the increasing competitiveness of the Manitoba Canada provincial Nominee program and the importance of submitting a robust application to stand out among the pool of candidates.

International Education Stream

Manitoba also reaffirmed its intention to retain international students who have experience studying and working in the province. A total of 297 invitations were issued under the International Education Stream (IES). This stream is a strong driver in encouraging international graduates to stay in Manitoba to contribute to its thriving economy, thereby filling skill shortages in key sectors.

Express Entry Candidates

Of the total 399 issued in this round of invitations, 43 went to candidates with an active Express Entry profile. The Manitoba Canada provincial Nominee program invited Express Entry candidates through which they enjoy the addition of 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, which in most cases, is guaranteed for an invitation to apply for permanent residency from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This route reflects the selection of highly qualified persons to match the needs of the province’s economy.

2024: A Year of Record-Breaking Invitations

As 2024 approaches the end, Manitoba stands out as a new leader in immigration. This year alone, the province extended 7,833 candidate invitations under the Manitoba Canada provincial Nominee program; among them, 1,141 were Express Entry candidates. These figures signify how Manitoba is becoming more appealing as a destination for skilled workers and how this place is strategically taking hold of labor market challenges.

This number also points to Manitoba’s zeal for attracting the best available talent and creating long-term sustainable economic growth. In seeking to fill gaps in targeted industries, Manitoba prioritizes candidates with the skills and experience required to meet their needs, thus ensuring their immigration efforts are aligned with the province’s economic growth agenda.
