Eligibility Requirements for the FSW Program
A candidate must meet specified minimum requirements with regard to years of experience, level of education, age, and English or French language proficiency in order to be eligible for the FSWP:
Skilled work experience: a minimum of 12 months of constant, full-time, skilled work experience gained within the last 10 years (or an equal amount in part-time experience).
Work experience that is classified as NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 is considered to be skilled work experience.
Language ability: a recognized level of language proficiency in either English or French that meets the criteria of the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 for all skills reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Your language tests are valid for 2 years after the date of the test result. They must be valid on the day you apply for permanent residence.
Education: Education Credential Assessment (ECA) report and Canadian or foreign educational credential (certificate, diploma, or degree).
Financial Support: Meet the requirements for settlement funds (if applicable). Candidates may have to prove they have enough money saved up in order to survive financially once they come to Canada.
Achieve at least 67 points on the FSWP grid. The grid utilized by the programme assesses candidates on factors like adaptability, language proficiency, work experience, and age.
