Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC)
The Canadian government’s ESDC department is in charge of the federal labor market and social programs. What is Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)?
Before hiring a foreign worker, a Canadian employer may be required to get a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
A positive LMIA will show that a foreign worker is required to fill the position. Additionally, it will show that no Canadian citizen or permanent resident is suitable for the position. A confirmation letter is yet another term for a positive LMIA.
