Who should EOI draw Manitoba?

All applicants interested in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas, and International Education Streams have to submit a Manitoba expression of interest (EOI).

Can I submit multiple EOI at the same time?

No, You cannot submit more than one Expression of Interest. All candidates can only have one active EOI at any given time. Every prospective applicant to the MPNP should only submit one Manitoba EOI to the Program.

When will I claim points for language ability in Canada’s second official language for MPNP?

Language points are calculated according to documented proof of training and ability in one or both of Canada’s official languages, English and French.

To claim points in Canada’s second official language you should have a CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) 5 or higher.

For Example, if you completed a French test for your first official language, to receive points for a second official language, you have to provide a valid English test (CELPIP or IELTS) that meets CLB more than 5 or higher. If you completed an English test for your first official language, in order to receive points for a second official language, you must provide proof of a valid French test (TEF) that meets CLB a point more than 5 or higher.

How can Expression of Interest benefit Manitoba and MPNP applicants?

The MPNP is introducing process improvements, including EOI, to ensure that Manitoba’s needs and labor market demands continue to be served by the program. These process improvements will result in the following:

  • A better ability to respond to Manitoba’s labor market needs
  • Faster and more efficient processing of applications to the MPNP
When does my Expression of Interest expire?

An expression of interest is valid for one year from the date candidates submit them to the MPNP. If you do not receive a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) after 365 days and you still want to be considered for the MPNP, you will have to complete a new profile.

How will I calculate my work experience?

You should only count the full years of work experience that you have already completed. For example: If you have gained 7 months of work experience, you would have to answer less than 1.

You have to calculate the total amount of full years of work experience you have completed over the last 5 years prior to the date you are submitting your MPNP Expression of Interest. The MPNP only considers full-time employment, which is defined as thirty (30) hours of work or more for the same employer over the period of one week.

What is the minimum EOI score for Manitoba PNP?

The minimum EOI draw Manitoba score for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program can be different for each stream, depending on the candidate pool in any given draw. For the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, it is usually around 600 points, but the score may vary according to demand, labor market needs, and the number of candidates in the pool.

It is advisable to check the latest Manitoba PNP draw results periodically as the province may adjust EOI score requirements based on the draw results. Other candidates who have a connection with Manitoba, for instance, previous work experience or family, will be granted extra points, which increases their chances of receiving an invitation to apply.
