Canada Ranks 5th Globally for Work-Life Balance

The survey conducted by Remote HR recently identified that the country takes the 5th position in the list of countries that offer the best work-life balance in Canada. This particular list assumes the position that is highlighting the rising trend of Canada in terms of the desired country for immigration an area that supports the strategy that the Canadian government is embarking on to attract qualified people from other countries to come and work in Canada.

Why Canada Stands Out in Work-Life Balance?

The overall index of overburdened health care countries stood at 72 placing Canada among the top performers. Where statutory annual leave, sick pay, normal working hours, minimum wage, and overall life satisfaction were compared, the country scored 75 out of 100 in the carried out study. But what makes Canada even more appealing is that the weekly hours worked per employee amount to thirty-two as a mean value which is rather low while the country boasts of its having a very high safety rating along with its inclusiveness for the members of 2SLGBTQ+.

  1. Shorter Work Weeks: Canadian employees work one of the lowest number of hours in the week, averaging at 32 hours per week and still experience a healthy work-life balance.
  2. Safety and Inclusivity: Canada has lower crime rates as compared to many countries in the world and is known for its friendly environment for foreign workers and employees of minorities such as 2SLGBTQ+.
  3. Strong Social Support: High levels of health care for its citizens, availability of paid sick days, and corporate-friendly policies are sure to add to the well-being of the employees, in addition to making Canada the best country to work in according to the global ranking.
  4. Areas for Improvement: As well, Canada is strong in several aspects, however, according to the study the organization could improve the vacation time as statutory leave differs by province. Dealing with this may further enhance the ranking to an even higher position among the countries of the world, confirming Canada’s position as one of the best places to live.
