BC PNP Invitation: British Columbia Invites 163 New Candidates Through BC PNP Streams

BC PNP Invitation

On September 4, 2024, the British Columbia Government kept on supporting the immigration of skilled talent into the province through the BC PNP invitation and conducting new invitations under the BC PNP. In this most recent round, the province invited 163 skilled workers to apply for Canadian permanent residence and settle in the province through its various specifically targeted immigration categories.

A Breakdown of General and Targeted Draws for BC PNP Invitations

In the general draw, British Columbia invited 75 candidates with minimum CRS of 110 points. This draw was to comprise skilled workers in general and international graduates to meet this province’s need of qualifying and well-represented occupations. The competition level underlines the need to meet certain requirements which include job offers, and related working experience which are major rank factors that can triple the chances of receiving an invitation.

The province also focused on key sectors critical to British Columbia’s economy and social services:

  1. Childcare (Early Childhood Educators and Assistants): Of 2185 candidates, 31 were issued ITAs in a new draw targeting early childhood educators with NOC code 42202. As the need for good child care services continues to rise in the province, there is an emphasis placed on trained workers to supplement young parents and educators.
  2. Healthcare: Different from the other draw, which was healthcare targeted, 19 candidates were invited and all of them had a minimum of 99 points. This scenario continues to show the province’s commitment towards enhancing health care to comply with existing human health care professional shortages across the province to ensure that the citizens of British Columbia have an equal chance to access health care services.
  3. Construction and Veterinary Care: Further, in the construction trade, which is a highly important sector that drives infrastructure and housing construction in British Columbia, invited 33 candidates. The province also issued up to five invitations to candidates with work experience in veterinary care occupations because of the recognition of the need for animal care and management services in the urban areas as well as the large agricultural areas.
