Alberta Releases Results of Eight Draws Under the AAIP, Inviting Skilled Workers Across Multiple Sectors Through Alberta Express Entry

March 10, 2025

Alberta Express Entry

Alberta continues to build bridges for talented immigrants through its Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) and Alberta Express Entry. The province has just announced the outcomes of eight draws held between February 7 and March 5, 2025. These draws focused on professionals from various fields, reflecting Alberta’s efforts to diversify its workforce and tackle labor shortages.

AAIP Draws: A Breakdown of Key Invitations for Alberta Express Entry

Agriculture Sector Draw – February 7, 2025

On February 7, Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors issued invitations to 20 agriculture sector specialists. This action goes hand-in-hand with Alberta’s initiatives aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector to achieve food security and sustainable farming methods throughout the province.

Tech and Construction Professionals – February 12 and 14, 2025

Alberta continues to be a hub for technology and infrastructure development.

  • February 12: Alberta Express Entry Stream’s Accelerated Tech Pathway issued 63 invitations to talented tech professionals. This action reflects the province’s focus on advancing digital innovation and catering to increasing demand for tech specialists.
  • February 14: The Alberta Opportunity Stream issued 88 invites to construction workers, targeting the shortage of labor in the housing and infrastructure sectors. Alberta’s booming real estate and commercial construction projects need expert professionals, and this draw is critical for the growth of the industry.

Healthcare Professionals – February 18, 19, 27, and 28, 2025

In order to recognize the demand for skilled healthcare workers, Alberta had four individual draws under the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway (for both Express Entry and non-Express Entry streams). A total of 72 candidates were invited through these draws, assisting Alberta in bolstering its healthcare system and providing high-quality medical services to residents.

Law Enforcement Professionals – March 5, 2025

Alberta’s last invitation in this round occurred on March 5, when four invites were issued under the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Law Enforcement Pathway. The niche stream was designed to encourage skilled police officers and public safety professionals, and it contributes to strengthening the safety of communities province-wide.

Alberta’s Growing Immigration Landscape

At 555 invitations provided by all AAIP streams in 2025, Alberta reestablishes itself as an ideal destination for immigration. The Alberta Express Entry stream, as well as other AAIP streams, has the central function of filling up gaps in the labor market, sustaining economic growth, and maintaining a diverse, skilled labor force.

These new draws demonstrate Alberta’s active role in inviting professionals in various industries, positioning it as a desirable province for immigrants who want stable career prospects.

Why Choose Alberta for Immigration?
  1. Diverse Job Market – Alberta offers opportunities in many different industries, such as technology, agriculture, healthcare, construction, and law enforcement.
  2. Strong Economy – The province has a robust economy, with ongoing investments in infrastructure, digital innovation, and public services.
  3. Assistance to Newcomers – The government provides several immigration streams, settlement programs, and job tools to assist newcomers in integrating well.
  4. High Quality of Life – Alberta boasts of its low-cost housing, quality healthcare, and world-class education system, making it a good place to work and live.
  5. Speedier Immigration Processing – The AAIP aims to expedite processing time, ensuring skilled workers easily move into Alberta’s labor market.
Is PNP easy in Alberta?

The Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), also called the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), is a comparatively accessible route for graduates, entrepreneurs, and skilled workers to gain permanent residency in Canada. Although the program is competitive, the program is easier than other PNPs due to Alberta’s lower CRS score requirements and the frequent invitations of candidates who are part of the Alberta Express Entry stream with significant connections to the province, skills in demand, or job offers. Yet, eligibility varies based on work experience, the demand for the occupation, and federal Express Entry profile requirements. Maintaining a good profile and qualifying for Alberta’s requirements can enhance the possibility of being nominated.
