Ontario French-speaking Skilled Worker stream

Ontario One of the Human Capital streams of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) administered by the province of Ontario, is the Ontario French-speaking Skilled Worker stream. Candidates from the Express Entry pool who exhibit bilingualism and the capacity to contribute as skilled workers to the province’s workforce are invited to apply for the French-Speaking Skilled Worker category.

It allows foreign workers with the necessary education, work experience, and language skills to apply to live and work permanently in Ontario.

How to be selected for the Ontario French-speaking skilled worker stream?

To be successful in the Ontario French-speaking skilled worker stream, you need to:

  • select one of the two government programs you want to be assessed against: such as the Canadian Experience Class and the Federal Skilled Workers Program.
  • A Canadian bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree is required, or its equivalent from another country. You must get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report to demonstrate that your education is equivalent to a Canadian credential if you finished your studies outside of Canada.
  • You must have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 7 or higher in either English or French in order to understand, read, write, and speak either language. Before submitting your application to this stream, you must pass an approved English or French language test to prove that you have the necessary language skills.
  • When you migrate to Canada, you must have sufficient funds to support both yourself and any dependant family members.
  • Once granted permanent residency, you must plan to remain in Ontario
