Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is one of the most popular of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs or PNPs. This is a system of immigration routes that allows foreign applicants to become citizens of Canada. The PNP is specifically designed to attract immigrants to the province in sectors such as skilled labor, professionals in industries where there is a shortage of labor, recent graduates, and agricultural entrepreneurs.

For Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and the acceptance of applications by the province, the current MPNP criteria for this stream, which is split into the Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers into Manitoba categories, remain in force.

The updated Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program has four streams and a variety of what the province is now calling “pathways.”

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM)
  • Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO)
  • International Education Stream (IES)
  • Business Investor Stream (BIS)

Skilled Workers in Manitoba

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) run by the province of Manitoba, is a collection of immigration streams known as Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM). Three immigration streams that are part of Manitoba’s “Skilled Workers” program are targeted at foreign nationals who already have work experience or a job offer there and who have the qualifications and training needed to succeed in the province’s labor market.

Skilled Workers Overseas stream

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) run by the province of Manitoba, is made up of a number of immigration streams and is known as Manitoba Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO). Three immigration streams under Manitoba Skilled Workers Overseas are targeted at immigrants with the knowledge and expertise required to contribute significantly to Manitoba’s labor force.
