Introduction to the Manitoba PNP

The first PNP in Canada was the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In 1998, it was turned into a permanent immigration program.

Based on the province’s economic and labor market demands, the initiative was started to aid in the expansion of its economy through immigration.

The MPNP received 418 new immigrants in its initial year. Today, the province uses the scheme to nominate around 4,000 new immigrants annually.

Also popular with newcomers in Manitoba. Being able to immigrate through the MPNP is much easier if you have friends or family in Manitoba. Additionally, more than 90% of provincial nominees seek jobs in their first year. The province has a high retention rate, with approximately 90% choosing to remain in the province.
