Manitoba invited 336 skilled candidates under the new MPNP draw on January 26, 2023, Manitoba held its second invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) this year. In round #166, the MPNP issued 253 LAAs in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 726 points, 8 points fewer than the previous draw.
In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, Manitoba issued 23 LAAs. The lowest score in the SWO category was 713 points, the same as in round #165.
In addition, 60 invitations were issued in the International Education Stream. Manitoba has issued LAAs to 336 candidates, including 32 Express Entry candidates for this round. In 2023, MPNP invited 658 candidates, and 59 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.

Skilled Workers in Manitoba
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba (SWM) pathway suggests applicants who have a strong connection to the province through ongoing employment and enough expertise in official languages, as well as the skills needed, education, training, work experience, and job experiences, to instantly and reliably contribute to the Manitoba economy and our community in general.
Manitoba Skilled Workers Overseas
All applicants to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) applying to the Skilled Worker Overseas pathway must show a demonstrated connection to Manitoba, either through the support of family or friends, through prior education or employment in the province, or through an Invitation to Apply received directly from the MPNP as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
Manitoba International Education Stream
The International Education Stream (IES) for Manitoba graduates aims to provide international students that graduate in Manitoba faster pathways to nomination even while meeting the requirements of the industry.
There are three paths to take:
- Career Employment Pathway.
- Graduate Internship Pathway.
- International Student Entrepreneur Pilot (ISEP).
