On August 31, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 2,750 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates under Express Entry. In this round of invitations, no program has been specified. In round #230, the cut-off score was 516 points, 9 points fewer compared to the previous draw. 

The tie-breaking rule for this round was April 16, 2022, at 18:24:41 UTC. As of August 2, 2022, there are 239,196 profiles registered in the Express Entry pool, 252 more compared to the previous update. In 2022, Canada issued 21,038 ITAs through Express Entry.

The cut-off will be based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles, If more than one candidate has the lowest score.

IRCC ranks candidates in the pool using a points-based system which is called CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System). They select the highest-ranking candidates from the pool and invite them to apply for permanent residence.

Every invitation round has instructions that are:

• posted online at the time of the invitation round
• used by the Express Entry system to invite candidates from the pool

The Instructions are Included:

• the date and time of the invitation round
• the number of candidates that will get an invitation to apply
• which immigration program is included in the round (some invitation rounds may only invite candidates for 1 program, for example only from (Federal Skilled Trades)
